IHFFC Annual Meeting 2025

The International Humanitarian Fact-finding Commission (IHFFC) held its Annual Meeting from 2 to 4 June 2025 in Bern, Switzerland.

The members of the Commission are:

First row: Åsa Molde (Sweden), Dyanne Marenco Gonzalez (Costa Rica), Elżbieta Mikos-Skuza (Poland), Tatiana Eddie Razafindravao (Madagascar), Noor Ibrahim Al-Sada (Qatar).

Second row: Holger Federico Martinsen (Argentina), Mateus Kowalski (Portugal), Alfredo Labbé (Chile), Robin Mc Neil Love (United Kingdom), Thilo Marauhn (Germany, President), Katarína Šmigová (Slovakia), Sukhbold Sukhee (Mongolia), Rachid Belhadj (Algeria), Vaios Koutroulis (Belgium), Mohamed Mahmoud Al Kamali (United Arab Emirates).

During the meeting, the Commission discussed, among others, the good offices it provided to the Government of Poland, its operational guidelines, efforts to convince more States to accept the competence of the Commission, and its substantive program of work for this year.

Established under Article 90 of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions, the IHFFC is available to parties in armed conflicts to restore respect for International Humanitarian Law.

There are fifteen members of the International Humanitarian Fact-Finding Commission.
